Texas State Aquarium

While on our family fishing trip in Corpus we decided to take the three little ones to the Texas State Aquarium. They really enjoyed seeing all of the fish and watching the dolphin show.

Annual Family Fishing Trip

The annual family fishing trip has come and gone. We were in Corpus Christi all last week and had so much fun. My whole family goes every year: mom, dad, little brother, little sister, older sister and her husband and their two kids, Bret and me and Molly. We never took the kids to the beach but we did take them to the Texas State Aquarium which I will post pictures later. However I think the kids had a great time at the condo. The deck is big so we are able to put a blow up pool on it and the kids just play in it all day. Not to mention since it is right on the water there is usually a nice breeze blowing so it is some what bearable to stay outside. Over the four days that we fished I think we caught about 30 fish which made for a great fish fry with plenty to bring home.

This was the big Red fish that I caught. I don't remember how big.

This is the big Red Fish Bret caught.

The kiddos playing in the pool.

One of the only days Molly wore a swimsuit. The rest of the time she played in the water in either her swim diaper or just her shirt and diaper. For some reason she did not like wearing the swimsuits.

My niece Rylan trying to hide from me so I would not take her picture.

I don't remember where my dad said he got this watermelon all I remember him saying was "the guy that sold me this said this is the best watermelon and you will be back for more" and it was GREAT!

My nephew Colton being so cute.

Under the stairs was a closet but it was just perfect size to fit a roll-a-way cot in so at night it was a bed but during the day it was the perfect place for the little ones to sit in and watch one of their shows on the portable dvd player.

Rylan catching a fish.

Molly catching a fish.
Well, actually for both Rylan and Molly one of the boys had to hook the tiny fish and then they let the girls real it in.
Family fishing trip is always so much fun. Cannot wait till next year!

Molly's Birthday

Just a warning this post is heavy on the pictures :)

This year we did not have a birthday party for Molly with friends. We were out of town with my family and her birthday falls the same weekend as Father's Day, our anniversary, and my birthday. Needless to say I could not find any spare time to pick a day to clean my house to have guests over so she had two family parties. One was with my family in Stockdale before heading out on our fishing trip and the other party was with Bret's family on Sunday after Father's day lunch at his grandparents.

Party at my parent's house:
She is not a fan of people singing to her.

She did great blowing out her candles.

Loving her Dora bath toy.
Party with Bret's family at his grandparents:

In her pretty Sunday dress before she skinned her knee. After that happened it was such drama and every time the dress touched her knee she would cry soooo before lunch even started Molly got to spend the day in her diaper :) (how she would prefer)

Eating with her cousin Gregory at the kid table her Noni got her.

Once again please stop singing.

She was so excited about the hanger the dress came on.

Awe thanks guys!

Mmmmmm I love ice cream!

Happy Birthday Molly!

I cannot believe that two years ago today I gave birth to this sweet adorable little girl. Time sure does fly! She went to the doctor today for her 2 year check-up and did great. Usually every time we go she cries the WHOLE time we are there, even when the doctor is not doing anything. She never cried until they gave her the shot. She even told the doctor to check her ears and opened her mouth wide when the doctor said let me see your teeth.

2 Year Report:
Weight: 31 lbs
Height: 34 in

She did so great at the doctor but now that we are home every time she looks at her leg she just starts crying and saying "ohhh my leg."

There should be more posts soon. It was a very busy week with family fishing trip and family birthday party for miss Molly.

The Big Move

I am not sure why we did it but we just decided one day, "hey let's try Molly in her big girl bed." She was doing great in her crib, she never tried to get out, and she was still my baby in her crib. Not that she isn't now but it is just one other thing to show she is growing up. Her crib does not turn into a bed so she had to move to the twin bed that we have had in her nursery. We put it close to the ground so if she rolled off it would not hurt and she could get in herself. We have been doing this for a week and so far so good. She has been doing great at nap and bedtime. I thought it was going to be a little harder but we have only been at it for a week and she cannot quite open the door yet so once she can I am sure that will change.

Fossil Rim Trip

This past Sunday we took a trip with Chris, Valerie, and Ian to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, TX. We did the trip in a day which made for a long day but it was great. The kids and adults liked seeing and feeding the animals. It was so interesting to see such wild animals up close and personal. I will say some were a little intimidating. During the trip Bret said he thinks he likes the zoo better so he could see the animals but they don't bother him :)

P.S. It is a pretty long drive through the park so snacks are needed for small children (and maybe even adults). The cheetos saved the trip!

What's in a name?

Molly has never really made up names for things she does not know. She will usually just point at something and say "this" if she does not know or if somebody walks in the room that she does not know she will ask me "who's that." So it cracks me up that she has made up a name for my cousin Amy. Molly calls her (drum roll)................... "Game." Ha, where did she get that. Even if I correct her she still calls her Game and I don't know where she got it from. Amy comes and visits often because she lives in Austin but has to come to the Dallas area for work. We love it when Game comes and visits and so does Molly!
