Pumpkin Carving

This year we decided to do a pumpkin carving with Molly.  She was not to big on cleaning out the inside of the pumpkin.  She would not even touch the gooey stuff.

Our one tooth jack-o-lantern
We also made one of the Mr. Potato head pumpkins, which is a lot faster and not as messy.  Molly picked out the princess one.

Skinny!

Whenever we are with our friends Jay and Alison we would always tease one another when one of us made a "healthier" choice.  You just look at that person and say "Skinny!"  It may not have always been a healthier choice but maybe not as bad as what everyone else was choosing to eat or drink.  All that to say is that Bret really has been getting Skinny.  In July he joined Weight Watchers and it has been going great.  It is so easy with all of the meal suggestions to cook on line like Skinny Taste or you can even check out Dotty's website that will give you any restaurant and the points for their menu.  We have actually just recently joined e-mealz, which has a point system menu to choose from so it not only helps me plan our meals, it helps us budget, and keeps Bret on a point system.

Here he is in June.

Here he is now.  He has lost 26lbs (and still going)

Go Rangers!!

I know that everybody knows that the Rangers are going to the World Series and more than likely were even watching the game last night, but you have no idea what this means in our household.  My husband LOVES baseball.  That might be an understatement.  When baseball season starts that is all that is on in our house.  Yes he loves the Rangers but if the Rangers are not playing he will find another game to watch.  He made the comment tonight at dinner that he is excited that it is the World Series but that means that baseball season will be over soon.  He even had Molly watching baseball when she was 3 months old.  Here are the pictures to prove it.

This is just one picture of the many games we went to this season.  They are so much more fun to be at than to watch on t.v.
Trying to get a picture of Molly and Bret in their Rangers shirts last night.  I can promise you this that we WILL be watching every game of the World Series and if it is not on in our house it is because we are at somebody else watching it!

Electric Youth

Okay please tell me that when you saw the title "Electric Youth" that you thought of Debbie Gibson or the perfume.  Anybody?...Anybody?  Don't tell me I am the only one that had the perfume!

Ha Ha, okay I really made this post to show what crazy static Molly had the other day.  I even took these pictures with my phone.  It was so much more crazy in person.

What's On T.V.

When Molly came along and I was working I NEVER had time to watch t.v. not even when I would DVR something.  I would not have time to get around to watching it and it would get deleted.  They only way I knew what was going on was hearing all of the teachers talk about the shows in the teachers lounge at lunch.  Now that I am not working full time I have been able to enjoy this so called invention:  the television/DVR.  Now that all of the new shows have started up here is what you might find us watching, and not necessarily together.

My top three:
1. Modern Family
2. Glee (I know I know, yes I watch it but sometimes I do fast forward when they are getting on my nerves)
3. Grey's ( I started watching this again but if it gets to dramaish then I will look for something else :)

Bret's Top Three:
1. BASEBALL (when it is baseball season that is all that is on our t.v regardless if the Rangers are playing)
2. Community
3. The Big Bang Theory

Molly's Top Three:
1. Dora
2. Max and Ruby
3. Fresh Beat Band

Weekend With My Fam

This past weekend my mom, two sisters, and niece and nephew came up to visit for the weekend.  We had a very busy, eventful, and fun weekend.  As my niece Rylan said "it was the best weekend ever!"  Friday we went to the Dallas zoo and had a birthday party for my mom that evening.  Saturday we went shopping and Rylan was the only one we found a Halloween costume for.  Sunday we attempted to get pictures of the three kids together, ha!!

Bret's mom let us borrow her van so we could all fit in one vehicle.  We tried to get a picture of the kids in front of the van before we left.  As you can see it went well:  Colton is escaping, Rylan is yelling that the sun is in her eyes, and Molly is just standing there like what do you want me to do.

My mom (Nana) and her surprise birthday cake.
Rylan's princess costume.  She loved it.
This is pretty much how it was when taking pictures of two - 2 year olds and a 3 year old.

Dallas Arboretum

On Monday, Molly and I met Sherry, Jack, and Chloe at the Arboretum for a fun play date.  Apparently Mondays, which we were unaware of, is Mommy and Me day at the Arboretum.  I have never seen so many moms, strollers, and kids in one area.  We debated on leaving but we decided to stay and it was so much fun!  The weather was amazing and the pumpkin houses were so cute.  After playing around and trying to get some picture of the kiddos we walked around the rest of the Arboretum and found a secluded place and had a nice picnic lunch.  Molly would not cooperate with pictures she thought it was more fun to throw the hay, but she did stand still to show me her pumpkin she was holding :)

Fun Friday!

When I was teaching every Friday at school we had "Fun Friday" in my class.  It was still educational but we let loose a little and played more games, went outside more, had cooking and social lessons, played with the other classes (this is all possible because I had a self contained Special Ed classroom).  It was Fun Friday!  Well today I decided to have a little "Fun Friday" with Molly.

We started the morning playing outside.  Molly told me she was cold and needed her life-jacket with arms (her jacket) and a hat, but she was fine in her flip-flops and shorts.

Then we headed over to the library to check out some books and while we were there Molly got to play on the computer.

After the library we grabbed some lunch from Chicken Express and headed over to one of the parks for lunch and some playtime.

We had a lot of fun and to top it off Molly is taking a nice long nap while I type this :) The day is not over so who knows what we will do this evening.  Happy Fun Friday!!
