Sweet Granny Jane

My Granny Jane went to be with the Lord early this morning. She was 92 years old. She was an amazing woman and lived a long life. She will be greatly missed!

DIY Summer Wreath

Let me start by saying just be thankful this is not a DIY blog.  One because I am not very crafty and I would never post any DIY stuff and two because I am horrible about taking the step by step pictures of how to do it.  I got this idea from a couple of different wreaths I saw on pinterest, imagine that!
I got everything from Hobby Lobby.

Supplies:
Cardboard letter
Twine stuff is called Jute
Wreath
Flowers

This is the simplest wreath ever to make!

You just wrap your letter with the jute and hot glue it every now and then.

Glue your letter on and then just stick your flowers in.  No need to glue, and if you want to change them out during the seasons easy peasy.

And here it is!  It did it all during one of Hattie's morning naps!

A Little Curb Appeal

I hate tending to flower beds!  I am sure as well as everyone else they are definitely the last thing on your list (or not even on our list) of things to take care of.  However ours were getting a little out of control and even maybe had a hint of "does anybody live in that house", so one weekend Bret and I got after them.  Now neither one of us have a green-thumb so we pretended we knew what we were doing and hope that it lasts awhile.

Stay tuned for my next post about this DIY wreath.  I know you are all dying to know about it, ha! Oh and I am thinking about painting the front door.  What do you think?  Just not sure what color.

Just Another Hair Day

On any given day this is what Hattie's hair can look like, and yes we go in public like that.  She does not seem to mind.

Photo Op

Here lately Molly will only let me take her picture when she sees a good "photo opportunity."

For instance we have:

the watering spout, notice the leg lift

with the mannequin, and of course holding its hand

with the shark eating another fish

the child reading the book sitting on the world and it looks like her foot is resting on Molly's head

and last but not least, pretending to sleep in this yellow duck chair

That darn dog

There are many days I think to myself "why do we still have this dog!"  It is just another thing I have to take care of, but I know if she was gone it would be a little sad but I know I would get over it very quick.  However I am not so sure Molly would.

This evening I was taking the girls for a walk.  Bret was working late so it was just us girls.  Molly opened the front door and Tilly ran out.  She does this sometimes and after running around like a crazy locked up dog (because maybe she is) she always comes back.  Well this time she took off down the street and around the corner.  Molly was yelling her name "Tilly!"  then looked at me with tears in her eyes and said "I don't have a dog anymore."  I put the girls in the stroller and we went looking for Tilly.  As we passed the houses on the street, which no one was outside, Molly would yell " People! Have you seen my dog!?!"  After  a few minutes, before we even got to the end of our street Tilly came running around the corner and ran up to us.  Molly looked at her with a smile on her face and said "Tilly, you fluffy white dog, where have you been?"

So I guess for now we will keep our fluffy white dog.  I mean we have had her for seven years!
