Easter 2013

We usually travel for some of Easter weekend to see my side of the family, but this year Easter weekend was so busy we stayed here! Friday night we took Molly to Mary Poppins, Saturday was Bret's NaNa's 85th birthday party (which we did not get any pictures of) and then Sunday was Easter Sunday.  We had such a great Easter Sunday with family.

The attempt of pictures of the girls in their Easter dresses.

Let the Easter egg hunt begin!  It had poured earlier that morning so we were afraid we would not have an egg hunt outside, but the weather turned nice and the girls got to enjoy some egg hunting.  It was just Molly, Hattie and Audrey.  Next year baby Andrea you will get to join in!

Coloring Easter Eggs

I debated on if we were even going to dye egg this year.  We don't really eat hard boiled eggs so they pretty much just get thrown out after it is all said and done, but I am glad we did!  It must have been a lazy day when we did color them because the girls are still in their pajamas.  Hattie could have cared less but Molly really kind of enjoyed the fun of it this year.

Mary Poppins Date with Our Little Lady

When we heard Mary Poppins was coming to Dallas Bret and I knew we wanted to take Molly to see it, so we got tickets the day they went on sale. We knew that she would just love it, ha!  Well leading up to the Mary Poppins show Molly would just casually tell me that she really did not want to go see it.  That she really did not like Mary Poppins.  I would always shrug it off and say "oh it will be fun!"  The day of the show Molly was very adamant about not going.  There were tears and everything.  I was seriously thinking that we were going to have to call someone last minute and give our tickets away or drag a crying kid in.  Bret talked to her and convinced her how much fun it would be so she changed her mind and wanted to go.  It was so nice to spend time with just Molly.  We went to dinner, then ice cream, and then the show.  It was so good!!  BUT really long for a 4 year old.  It was a great evening and Molly really enjoyed it.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly of Spring Break

I had this great drama filled post I had planned in my head that I was going to write after Spring Break was over, and well here we are two weeks later, so here is the condensed version.

The Good:
The beginning weekend of Spring Break my mom, my oldest sister, and my niece Rylan and nephew Colton come in town to visit.  We had a great time! They got in late Friday night and left Monday morning.

Saturday we did some fun outings and shopping with the kids.  We ended the evening making our own pizzas, playing outside after the rain, and a movie night.

Sunday we took the kids to the dollar movie theater and then for dinner went to the hibachi grill, which was hysterical watching the kids faces.

The Bad:
Hattie got sick with what we thought was strep on that Sunday before Spring Break.  I took her into the doctor Monday after the family left just for them to say it is just a virus with some of the same symptoms of strep and that it will just have to run its course...okay fine no problem.

The Ugly:
At some point during our fun times while my family was here we were exposed to some nasty germs because by Wednesday and Thursday Hattie, me, my mom, and my niece and nephew all had a stomach virus, thank goodness we were all at our own homes by then ;), so now Hattie has been sick since Sunday which then turns into a stomach virus and I get it too...oh and of course Bret was out of town for work when all this was happening.  Luckily Molly did not get sick.

By the end of Spring Break on Friday we were all finally better and could get out and enjoy the beautiful weather.  We did have a great end to Spring Break 2013.

Mamaw is 85!

Last weekend we traveled east of Houston to surprise my Mamaw with a party.  She turned 85!  Most of the aunts, uncles, and cousins were able to make it.  Mamaw was so thrilled and we had great time celebrating!

Happy Birthday Mamaw!
